How, without example of love or nurture, from your own so-called 'parents', you gave us all, the love, devotion, and self-sacrifice, and far, far more, is a credit to your character, and resolve to be something very different from your own lived experience. Knowing what it was to be the 'outsider', in your own family, you sought out, the forgotten/despised in society. You found the good in those who meant nothing to others.
